Google SketchUp pro installation problem on Windows 7 and Windows Vista.

You have just installed Google SketchUp Pro 7 on your Windows 7 or Windows Vista. When launching SketchUp or layer, the following message appears and blocks normal usage:

“Unable to update the evaluation time. Make sure that C:ProgramDataGoogleGoogle SketchUp 7SketchUp7.If is writable.”

The solution

1. In Windows Explorer, go to each of the following applications: SketchUp, Layer or Style builder, that is, if you have kept the default installation directory :
   • for 32-bit machines:
     • C:Program filesGoogleGoogle SketchUp 7SketchUp.exe
     • C:Program FilesGoogleGoogle SketchUp 7Style BuilderStyle Builder.exe
     • C:Program FilesGoogleGoogle SketchUp 7LayOutLayOut.exe
   • for 64-bit machines:
     • C:Program files (x86)GoogleGoogle SketchUp 7SketchUp.exe
     • C:Program Files (x86)GoogleGoogle SketchUp 7Style BuilderStyle Builder.exe
     • C:Program Files (x86)GoogleGoogle SketchUp 7LayOutLayOut.exe
2. Right click on the applications and in the tab “Compatibility” check the box “run this program as administrator”.
   • Run this program as a quad administrator
3. Run the program again, a window like the one below will open, choose the “YES” option:
   • Authorization window
