Interview with the designer “David Thoiron
- adebeo: Could you introduce yourself in a few words?
Passionate about new technologies, I have been a telecom consultant in Lyon for the past ten years. My company APEXIA works with SMEs and large companies to offer various telecom solutions (VPN, fiber optics, VoIP, mobility …). I am also the creator of the www.monfacteurenligne.com website, which allows you to send registered mail without leaving your home.
Since I discovered micro-computing, I like to develop small playful applications.
- adebeo: Where did you get the idea for FotoSketcher?
FotoSketcher was born from a small program I made in 2007, which was intended to automatically transform a photo into a pencil drawing. I’m interested in painting, but my artistic talents are very limited, so one day I decided to see if I could create a program that could draw for me.
- adebeo: How would you describe FotoSketcher?
FotoSketcher is a free and fun software that allows you to easily and automatically transform a photo into a work of art (drawing, oil painting, watercolor). Different effects allow you to simulate the rendering that a real artist could obtain.
- adebeo: What improvements are you thinking of updating?
Some effects need to be improved for even more realism. I also plan to add new filters and speed up the processing of some slow processes.
- adebeo:Will FotoSketcher remain free?
I do wish FotoSketcher would stay free, so that as many people as possible can enjoy it.
