After having followed our SketchUp training, Edouard Bisbrouck, from Ewood 2005-2012, gives us his testimony:
– Could you introduce yourself in a few words (you, your activity, your background, your specialty)?
Edouard, 33 years old, wood carpenter, 7 years of training at the A.O.C.D.T.F (1994-2001), founder and manager of ewood sarl 2005-2012. I work in the field of wood construction (from the study to the delivered realization).
– How did you discover SketchUp?
Several years ago at Batimat. Then, more recently, I got involved because I was looking for a “SMART” software.
– How do you use Sketchup today and what do you use it for?
I used to do freehand reflective sketches first, then 1/5th or 1/10th details with pencil and ruler, then I would switch to “sema”, which is the software the company has. Now I’m going straight to SketchUp. SketchUp allows me to draw “everything” I need to draw and plan, without limits and without compromise. And that’s no small thing!
– What is the strength of SketchUp in your business?
There is no shape limit. If you start with a geometrical drawing reasoning, this software can do it. Be careful, there is no security, you have to learn to control what you do (this is a good credo). It is a free software and therefore very powerful.
